background color choice

I created a template with a royal/navy blue background. The client has now
told me the presentation will be in a well lit room. Is it better to use a
lighter backround with black text, or keep the darker backround and use
white text?

The answer will depend on the projector that's being used for this
presentation. Newer models have enough lumens to overcome standard room
lighting, making it possible for you to use medium to dark backgrounds
without compromising legibility.

If you can, project a few slides using the same projector/room lighting
and look at everything from the back of the room. Test it out before
you go thru all of the work converting the file to a light background.
