B&W screen saver

I have an HP laptop running vista. I don't know if this is a Vista or HP
question.

After a while, the screen saver (photos and videos) turns to black and
white. If this is a Vista "feature", what setting do I need to change?

Maybe you should check the setting in the screen saver.
If it is the built in Photos screen saver then the transition (Theme) is set
to random by default which will include the Black and White theme - if you
don't like it pick another Theme or even another screen saver.

Presuming your screen saver is set to photos....right-click your screen,
choose Personalize, select Screen Saver, then click settings. If your theme
is set to Random, the screen saver cycles throught the various themes, one of
which is black & white. To avoid this you need to select a specific other
theme then Random or Black & white.
