AVI in Windows Media Player

Ccan't seem to play .AVI files in Win Media Player.

You have encountered the following error while using
Windows Media Player:
Error# C00D11CD
(as seen via Microsoft's website)

Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error.
(as seen in WMP itself)

Any auggestions? Already have a DivX to VCD os SVCD (I
don't know if that's what I need). Thanks
