Is anyone else getting a response from the AVG updates that there is a
priority update available however when trying to download it a message
appears stating that the file is not present?

Yes same problem here.

Perhaps it's a problem on the site
- it seems to be very slow to update any web page.

Had this problem for few weeks - and reported in here !

Had enough of waiting - finally gave up and am now quite happy with Avast
(regular updates, and doesn't hog the system as long as the 4 essential
'providers' are running !

It's good to know that If I wanted to I could configure to use all 7
Providers as max security.

I can't even access Grisoft.com. Server must be down.

They are having server problems but the AVG forum is up and there are
many others having the same problem. You can try to get the update
manually here http://free.grisoft.com/doc/24/lng/us/tpl/v5

What's in a Name?

I have tried to get the update manually. It won't 'Run' so I have
saved it in a file. How do I update it from the file. Thanks for any
help.

From AVG forum-

"After you have the files,

1. Verify and update your computer's time and date, AVG uses this info
to determine if you have the correct files.

2. Open the Control Center,

3. Double Click on the Update Manager or select it then press the
Properties button at the bottom of the screen.

4. On the Properties screen unselect the option labeled "Do not ask for
the update source", click Apply and Ok.

5. Now click the Update button on the bottom of the screen.

6. In the pop-up window, click the Folder button.

7. Navigate to the folder where you had downloaded the update files
into and click Ok. (Sometimes this needs done twice for AVG to see the
file.)

8. AVG will update now with the file you had selected unless it
contains the same as you already had.

That should be all you need to have updated your system."

Thanks for your help. I did exactly what you suggested and at the end of it,
a box came up saying 'there is no new update'. But when I check AVG for
updates, it tells me there is a new update (151). I am updated to (149) &
(651) at the moment.

Me again, sorry. I have managed to do it now. Thanks for your help. Much

I just did it and it worked for me. Did you uncheck the "do not ask for
update source"? Try to install the update again. Did you download
u7iavi151wf.bin ?

Be aware--Avast will prevent System Restore from creating Automatic Restore
Points. I like it (Avast) so far and am putting up with making manual
restore points.

Just wondering but is there a way to download the update files if you
know there names and where they are kept? I would be downloading them
onto a computer that doesn't have AVG installed and then transferring
them.

If so ... where can they be found?
