AVG Paper Clip

H

Heather

Hi all......

Can you help me out here. One of my genealogy Listers posted for the first
time and he uses AVG......his post shows a paper clip beside it and
attachments are not allowed on Lists, nor can they get thru the server.

I had noticed this oddity privately when a friend wrote me and it seems that
all it is may be the tagline......she fixed something in it and it no longer
fires out containing a paper clip.

This got the a few of the List people worried (virus attachment they
thought), and a couple of them have asked me to find out the fix so that AVG
doesn't show this paper clip. They can't seem to get rid of it.

I hope I made this clear enough.

Cheers....Heather

These attachments are "certificates" showing AVG scanned the email. Open
the AVG Control Center, double-click “Email Scanner”, and click the
Configure button. Under “Email Scanning”, deselect “Certify mail”. There
are two of these options, one for sent mail and one for received.

Have him turn off the "certify mail" option.
Open AVG Control Center by right clicking the tray icon
and choosing "Launch Control Center".
Right click the big E-mail scanner button in the Control Center
and then click "configure".
Uncheck the outgoing mail "certify mail" box. Also the incoming
"certify mail" box if he wants.
Click "OK" twice and close the Control Center.

Thanks Julian and Sanjaya.....I passed the info on to my List. Seems there
were a few of them with AVG who didn't know what was causing it.

Cheers......Heather
