AVG Antivirus

I use AVG 6 Free Edition - latest update - and as far as I can tell it
is working as intended. However the security test available at the
Symantec website gives a warning "No known virus protection found.
This means your computer and data are vulnerable to virus attacks." Is
there an explanation for this apparent contradiction? Is there a way
to unequivocally determine the state of virus protection? John.

Symantec only recognizes it's own. Any other virus protection is
non-existent.
They want you to buy Symantec of course.

Smmantec ware is NOT smart enough to tell if you have an anti-virus
running.
