Aver TV and Windows Media Center software incompatible?

I am using Aver Tv's A800 TV Tuner in a Windows Vista OS environment. I am
also using their TV Utility software to download the tv services. All works
fine - I can scan successfully for TV services and the relevant guide.

Whilst setting up my Windows Media Centre within Vista I decided to use the
Live TV option. When it came to scanning, however, no tv services were
found. Cannot be the signal since all works fine with AverTV. Are the two
softwares incompatible?

This is clearly not a major issue since AverTV works, but I am puzzled. Any
ideas?

Thanks

Media Center requires that a certain type of drivers, called BDA, these are
a sort of 'open' standard of driver which a lot of TV-related software can
hook into. However a lot of TV cards have BDA drivers, and their own
drivers for use with their software.

There may well be BDA drivers available.

The A800 does not have hardware mpg encoding, so will not work with Windows
Media Centre.

Thank you both for your replies. I carried out some more tests, as I was
surprised about the hardware incompatibility. When I closed the AverTV
software and ran Windows Media Center I did receive the downloaded tv signals
and all worked. The conflict, therefore, seems to be in running both
softwares at the same time.
