Available memory limited to 256K message at boot up

Our system has 2GB of memory installed. When the system is booting it tell me
that the amount of availble memory is limited to 256MB. Press F1 to continue
or F2 to run setup. How do I get this limitation removed from the system?
 
Press F2 and then look at the settings and then save and exit and
restart the computer. This will save the settings. Did you just add
more memory? Either that or maybe your computer was off for a long
time and the battery died.
