autorun. Help!

raj

I have windows Xp professional as an operating system.

Earlier when ever I used to insert a cd it used to ask
me 'which program I want to open it with.'
If it used to be autorun CD, it used to start on its own.

But now, every time I insert any CD, it shows all the
folders that are present in that CD.( in an explorer view)

I have 'ask every time for a selection' option checked on
the properties >> autorun tab.( righ clicking on E drive
and clicking on Properties.)
Even when I click on 'open in Media Player', it still open
in explorer view. Why?

Can help me to ensure that when I insert a music or a
movie CD it ask for the programe I like to open it with&
if I insert a autorun CD, like a game CD, it should
automatically start.

It used to function that way earlier on. What has happened
now?

Please Help!

Thanking you

Activate AutoPlay

Start/My Computer/rightclick your cd-rom drive (probably "D") /Properties/click the AutoPlay tab. Click under "Select...." Music/then select which application you want to use such as WMP, MusicMatch, etc. Click Apply & OK.

Hi,

There is a utility here:
ftp://12.107.147.141/WinXP%20Autorun%20fix/

You can copy it to your machine and run it to reset the CD autorun defaults.
It should help.
