Autorun for ASK fields

Joseph N.

[Word 2002/XP] I would like to have a couple of ASK fields in a
template that autorun each time a document based on that template is
created. How can I do that? Similarly, how can I update all fields,
so the newly answered ASK prompts show up in the pre-existing REF
fields, either automatically or at least prior to printing?

If you name a macro AutoNew it will run when a new document is created based
on the template. You can record this one if you want.

Edit => Select All
F9 (update fields)
Print Preview
Close Print Preview window.
(stop recording)

This should update your fields including the ASK fields and the dependent
REF fields. The print preview updates fields in your headers and footers.
