autoplay won't work when using CD or zip disk

A few week ago I searched for some info on my CD and zip disk drive. Now,
when I use my CD's or zip disk's, the search feature will come up and the
disk won't autoplay. I've gone into My Computer and tried so many times to
change the properties to auto play and even reset them to windows default,
and the search box still comes up. Does anyone know how I can undo this and
have the proper box show up when I insert a CD or zip disk. Thanks much.
