Autoplay Blank Media

N

Nik

Hi

I wonder if someone could clarify something for me.

I have 2 drives that are capable of burning blank CD's. Both SONY, one is a
DW-U18A (CD/DVD Burner as my D: drive) the other is a RX230e (CD/RW as my E:
drive)

I have Nero 6 as my burning software.

I have XP set so that when I insert Blank media into my E: drive (the main
52x burner) it recognises it, and launches Nero (Set to "perform same
action" each time)

I have tried to set the D: drive to do the same, but it will only allow one
or the other.

I have gone into drive properties and enabled "Allow CD burning on this
drive" on each drive, but as I select it on one, it deselects it on the
other.

It's a minor point, but occasionally I may use the D: drive as a CD burner.
Is there a tweak I can use, or a setting I am missing, or is this not
possible?

Also, I have updated the Firmware on the 52x speed drive, as it would only
recognise a speed of upto 12x.

After I had done this, I got an email from the PC supplier to say I should
try to set it as a PIO drive under the IDE controllers in Device manager. As
it seems to be working I'm trying to establish if this is necessary/better
for the drive (E:)?

....I've yet to experiment with the DVD drive, and I'm sure I'll have loads
more questions! Sorry!

Thanks for any advice!

Nik.

My experience with multiple CD/DVR drives indicates that only ONE can be
set as a recorder at any one time.
