Automatically sort and renaming of audio files

I am having a problem with how WMP9 sorts and renames files. It doesn't
appear that it is happing consistently. I have ripped a few custom CDs using
WMP9 directly to MP3. I leave the artist/song info blank as it is all
written on the face of the CD. Then I want to go back later into the media
library, enter the info there, and have it rename the files accordingly.
This isn't happening.

However, there was a ripped CD where the incorrect album name was obtained
from the net, I renamed the album to the correct name, and the files were
subsequently changed as I had hoped.

How can I get WMP9 to rename all files based on the content in the media
library? And how can I accomplish this without my information constantly
being overwritten with information from the net?

you can go to tool's/option's/media libary information
update's and configure for overwriting and add only
missing information and other stuff or you can right
click on the song and use advanced tag editor and put it
in manualy when you do this you want to keep it be sure
to configure to add only missing info. and not to
overwrite it!! >-----Original Message-----

I am well aware of the settings that you mentioned, and they are set as you
have mentioned. And we are almost on the same page clear thru the end of
your statements. The problem is the next step.

After using the tag editor (or the media library for that matter), the
program will not rename the files using the new information. This is what I
am trying to accomplish.
