Automatically process meeting requests - Intended for appointments

Is the Automatically process meeting requests feature under Tools | Options |
Calendar | Resource Scheduling intended to work for any appointment that is
received. I am looking for a way to accpept calendar appointments
automatically. If this is not the correct featue, can a rule be created?

No, it's intended for use only on calendars booked as resources. If you want Outlook to tentatively accept your meetings, the setting is Tools | Options | E-mail Options | Tracking Options | Process responses and requests automatically.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and that option is marked by default. I want to set
up a rule that automatically accepts and removes from my inbox meeting
requests and tasks from a particular sender. I also want to automatically
add contacts forwarded as vcards from that sender. Is any of this possible?
