Automatic Updates

I bought a computer with the Windows XP Service Pack 2 some time ago. Just
recently, I was forced to reformat my hard drive and reboot using my system
disks. The system works fine, except for one small glitch:

My Automatic update keeps trying to install Security Update KB923789. Every
time it tries, however, it fails. I went to the appropriate download site and
attempted to re-download and install the update manually, but I got an error
message saying that my Flash Player doesn't match the update. I currently
have the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer.

Uninstall Flash, then reinstall Flash

1. How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
Due to recent enhancements with the Flash Player installers, you are now only able to
uninstall by using the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller

2. Then get Flash here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

Reboot then try WU again and it should be gone, if not hide the update.
