Automatic Updates

Running Windows XP Professional with SP1 and all patches.

If I keep Automatic Updates enabled, how often does it
check for updates? Can I change this interval? How about
only letting it check during certain time windows? Also,
how much bandwidth does it consume when it checks for
updates?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I do not want to setup a SUS server.
 
In the Control Panel you'll find the icon for Automatic Updates. There you
can configure it.
