automatic updates

in my xp automatic update tab in my computer
properties.... it says... windows update service
unavailable??????

Right-click on "My Computer".....choose "Manage" from the pop-up menu.
Go to the "Services and Applications" category, double-click it to branch it
out, and click on the "Services" entry.
On the right hand side---look through the list for "Automatic
Updates"----right-click and choose "Start"
