Automatic Updates - Notification

S

Sanford

Using WinXP Pro SP2. I have my automatic updates set to "notify me but
don't automatically download or install updates." However, I never receive
any notifications, even when critical security updates have been issued,
which I become aware of by checking the Microsoft Update website. Is there
another setting that needs to be adjusted for these automatic notifications
to be received? Might I be blocking the process with my ZA firewall or
otherwise? (I had no problem previously with Win200P.) What should I do to
begin receiving the automatic notifications? Thanks for any help that may
be offered. Sanford

By default, automatic updates will only check for new updates every 17-22
hours. There's no way to change it.
