Automatic Updates Client in Windows XP SP1

Hello
Why does the documentation say that the recent Automatic Updates Client is only for Windows XP without SP1? We currently have Windows XP with SP1 and the version of the Automatic Updates Client that is currently installed is 5.4.3630.1106. I want to upgrade it to 5.4.3630.2550. However, I don't know how to uninstall it (it's not in Add/Remove Programs). So I figured I could just install overtop of it. However when I try to perform the install of the newest version (version 5.4.3630.2550) i get the following error message
"Microsoft Windows Update Auto Update requires Windows 2000 SP2 or Windows XP"
I am at a loss as to how to get this current version installed. Any ideas appreciated

Thanx, Janet

I think you have wait for SP2.

The purpose of this client is to enable users who cannot deploy the latest
service pack (perhaps because of an application incompatibility) to use
Windows Update or Automatic Updates via Software Update Services.

The one that's built into your SP1 is just fine and you should continue to
use that, until a new AU client ships (most likely in SP2 for Windows XP).

Oli
