automatic updater in win xp home

all the fields in the auto updater are greyed out and i
can not select anything...and yes i am signed on as
computer admin.please help....

use the services (services.msc in run box) and turn on the Automatic Updates
setting (make sure that it's set to automatic or manual startup)
