Automatic shutdown

Steve

I have upgraded from Windows 2000 Pro from Windows 98 SE.
When I was running Windows 98 SE I could shut the computer
off automatically by clicking shutdown. Windows would
shutdown and then the computer would turn off. Now that I
am running Windows 2000 Pro when I click shutdown Windows
shuts down and then says "it is now safe to turn your
computer off" and then I have to shut it off manually. Is
there any way to reset the computer shut all the way off
automatically?

if your machine supports it you need to enable APM. Right
click my desktop, customize my desktop, Screensaver,
power, click the APM tab and check Enable APM support. that
should work. if not go to setup during startup and if its
available enable APM.
