I already posted this request yesterday (in answer of
yours), but not only I have not received a new answer, but
I can't find my message anymore.
I can't send/receive automatically. Outlook 2000, Win 98
SEThe MVP told me to go to tools -> option -> click
automatic receive, but I don't have this option available.
A friend of mine just checked my computer, he too uses
OUtlook 2000, and he has it. So I am wondering if there is
a bug in my program, and what I should do.
Thanks

What you should do is post your mail support mode, mail account type and
connection type, so someone can answer you.

Sorry, I am not a technician, I am not exactly sure of
what you want. I try.... My email is a SMYP server, my
connexion is dial up with TCP/IP, neither hotmail nor
yahoo. I receive directly my emails from my server.
Thanks if you can help, or tell me more what you expect
from me.
Regards

Your mail support mode is in line 2 of Help | About.
I need to know which it is (Internet Mail Only or Corp/Workgroup) so I can
tell you where the option for automatic polling is.

If you have Outlook set to check mail every xx minutes, that will force
automatic dial up. To get it to connect when OL starts up, you have to set
the connection type for a LAN connection, not a modem connection (even
though you are using a modem connection).

Thanks for your help. I set my outlook for internet mail
only.
I stay connected most of the day, and I can't either find
if I said to check email every xx minutes.
Thanks
