Automatic scene/clip detection

I have captured an hour of dv-tape using DV-AVI format. MM
goes into clip creation but creates NO clips. I am sure it
used to work. Did I mess-up some setting ?

Is it just one long shot? (like maybe you set the camera up on a tripod for
an hour?)

or maybe you turned the option off - try in tools | options

or maybe it's a Hi8 tape being captured in a digital 8 camcorder - in which
there is no timecode data to use for clips.

It's a DV tape of many scenes but with no time marks. I was
hoping for split by content.

And I tried it in Studio 7 (Pinnacle) where it created the
clips with no problem.

Hi Casey.

http://www.scenalyzer.com/ can split the movie by content (referenced also
in many forums)...
.... http://www.dvzone.de/ibf/index.php?showtopic=1039&st=23 here you will
find a link to the old freeware (which only can split already captured
movies - the full version is able to split during capturing)
