Automatic saving

How can I set up my system so that it automatically saves
my work every few minutes? We have a lot of power
outages in our area in Michigan and I keep loosing some
work.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Helga,

Check the options of the program you are using to do your work (you didn't
mention what it was). Programs like Word have an option to autosave exery xx
minutes, all you need to do is set it. WinXP's creation of a restore point
would not save a work in progress or file, it saves a system state, nor can
you change the frequency of the creation of restore points.

Helga I use a program called SecondCopy, you can set it to backup changed
files continuously.

This is not a function of the operating system. *Some*
applications (WordPerfect, Word, etc.) have that capability. What
program or programs are you concerned with doing this in?

In addition to the good advice you already got, I'd suggest buying a ups
(Uninterruptable Power Supply). One for a single user should run about
$100.
