automatic reboot when XP starts up

Toon

During start up the windows XP bar appears and then suddenly the screen goes
black when a reboot starts.
This enters in F8 "safe start options", but every option ends in reboot
again and again.

The only option is a recovery CD, which only option is to format and
reinstall windows xp. This is not the prefered option for me.

Is there somebody with a good advise ?

I've used a windows XP install disk ( not a vendor recovery disk) that
enabled me to enter to the prompt chosing the option Repair. After the dos
prompt I've performed chdsk and restarted. Everything went alright
????!!!!!! So currently out of the problems..
Maybe the harddisk is faulty, waht do you think.
