I am having troulble with XP remembering my internet connection password. Whenever I try to connect, it displays a 16 character password as my saved password. My password is only 8 characters long. I have tried everything I can think of to resave the correct password. I have even deleted the entire connection and reset all of my information, still with the same result. I always have to cancel the automatic connection to correct the password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The password is saving correctly.
That is a security feature to mask the actual number of characters in
the password to any visitors.
Just log on as if it is correct...which it is.

However you defeated that feature by telling the world you have 8
characters in your password.

Hi Need help,

I am having troulble with XP remembering my internet connection password. Whenever I try to connect, it displays a 16 character password as my saved password. My password is only 8 characters long. I have tried everything I can think of to resave the correct password. I have even deleted the entire connection and reset all of my information, still with the same result. Your settings are all right. It will always display a 16 character
password, even if yours is only 6 or 8 characters long, for added
security. This is by design so no one is able to guess how long your
password is.

It will always display 16 characters, no matter what you do.

Good luck
