Automatic Logon with current username

I am in the process of installing a new content filter appliance on our
Win2K3 AD network. The vendor is recommending that I change the security
settings for the Internet and Intranet zones from "Automatic logon only in
Intranet zone" to "Automatic logon with current username and password."

Does this change present any real security issues?

Is there a GPO that will allow me to make this change across the domain?

Thanks!
Joe

Yes you can use the inetres.adm, which should already be loaded in your GPs.
Its under User Config->Admin Templates->Windows Components->Internet
Explorer->Internet Control Panel->Security Page. Then you'll have to
configure it for each appropriate zone (i.e. internet, intranet, trusted,
etc.), the actual option is under each of those folder and is called "Logon
Options".

Ted,
Thanks for the reply. What's your opinion of this change? Any serious
risks you can think of?

Thanks,
Joe
