autoformat malfuction

I am creating a document that has c&p info from the www. Some lines have
formatting while others don't and I'm trying to remove the formatting. So I
think for some reason that autoformat can help. So I choose autoformat under
the format menu and now all my formatting options are grey, as in I can't
click on anything in any menu except for a few things. Most of all, the
copy, paste, and turn off autoformat options are grey too so I can't shut it
off or copy my info to another document. Help!!

Sorry, I need the version of Word and your operating system to answer this
properly.

I suspect that Word has either crashed, or is waiting for your input on a
dialog box that has become hidden.

Try Alt + Tab to see if there are any dialogs hidden.

Cheers
