Autofilter

When I apply a filter and then modify the visible data by either copying a
formula down, or selecting multiple rows and applying a color to the text.
When I remove the filter the action I did is applied to all rows not just the
filtered subset.

To circumvent this situation, I copy and paste my filtered results to a new
sheet and do my work on it there.........

I understand that is an option - but when I do it on a different installation
of 2007 (on a different computer) it works as intended - only effecting the
subset of cells displayed? I just could not understand why it works one way

Sorry, I'm not a 2007 user. Perhaps someone else can help, or you can
re-post, explaining the entire situation.

Hi,
Same problem. Can't quite pin down when it does and doesn't occur.
I have a .xls file opened in compatibility mode which consistently exhibits
this behaviour when freshly opened but after a while the filter behaves
normally and I can no longer recreate the problem.
I haven't been able to recreate the problem in a 2007 converted file yet.

Anyone else made any progress testing?
