autocorrect picture

How do I insert a picture into autocorrect in Word 2003. I know how to set
up the autotext, but that's not what I need. I want the autocorrect to
insert a picture each time a specific name is typed? Any help is appreciated.

AutoCorrect *corrects* typos & spelling errors as well as inserting other
*characters*, it doesn't insert pictures.

AutoText *is* the feature to be used for this purpose, & it works pretty
well... why do you want to force another feature to do a job it isn't
intended to do when there *is* a feature that *will*?

I mainly wanted autocorrect because autotext gives them an option to make the
change or not. Autocorrect automatically does it for them and doesn't give
them the choice. Thanks for the feedback.

Insert your picture into a Word Document (any document, it doesn't matter),
click on it to select it. Select Tools > AutoCorrect... from the Menu.

The AutoCorrect dialog should open up with the picture in the replace with
box and "Formatted text" preselected. Enter the 'word' you want replaced.
Press Add. Press OK.

You can delete the picture from the document, to tidy up. Formatted
AutoCorrects are saved in the Normal Template so you'll have to do this for
each user individually.

Not so! Autocorrect can insert just about anything you can enter into a
document.

Select the picture - tools > autocorrect options. The formatted option
should be checked. Give it a name.

I stand AutoCorrected - apparently I was misinformed & never had occasion to
prove otherwise:) Thanks for the clarification!
