Autocomplete stops working

I have a user who daily experiences a problem where email addresses that have
previously been cached are no longer autocompleting. I have deleted her .nk2
file completely. Each day when she logs back in, all her cached addresses
have disappeared. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than deleting her
Outlook profile and creating a new one with a different name, which I have
noticed in one of the posts on here? We use Outlook 2002 with SP3 for Office
on Windows XP SP1. Thank you.

Why won't you create a new profile? The reason that solution is posted is
that it works. Your problem is a corrupt profile.

Melissa,

You deleted your user's NK2 file?? Is she still speaking to you? Read
carefully what Russ is advising. The problem most likely is NOT with the
NK2 file, it is with the Profile that connects to the NK2 file.

The NK2 file can store up to 1000 names/e-mails addresses. I recently heard
from an IT person that she may lose her position after deleting some VP's
NK2 file. Many people come to rely on the data contained in that file.

Still another company opens that file, exports all of the names in it, and
builds and "allowed" list for SPAM filtering. They find it much more
reliable then trying to extract names from the sent mail folder as this
information is often deleted.

We developed a program that will let you open and edit the NK2 file. You
may want to look at the demo version which can be found at
www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm.

Good luck with everything.

Randy
