Hi,
I'm having a problem where the AutoComplete function
doesnt save my password in IE. I have confirmed that the
AutoComplete options are turned on, and have tried:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306895 and
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;264672

It seems as though other people are having similar
problems. It's on my laptop runnnig WinXP SP1+ IE6 SP1
(and all latest patches).

Has anybody else been able to figure out whats wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Phil Persson

Phil,

Q264672 worked in all the cases I have seen. If not, see if the Protected Storage Service is turned ON. You can can turn this service ON using "Services.msc".

Hi Ramesh,
Thanks for that - I have tried Q264672 several times with
no luck. And yes the Protected Storage service is running.

Thanks for the info though. Any other suggestions?

I might try to re-install IE.

Thanks heaps,
Phil

Look at the fix at the bottom of the page. Especially for HP/Compaq PCs. But, it has worked for many others.

Hi Ramesh,
I have also tried that HP fix and it doen't work.

I have since tried to re-install IE (didn't work), I then
tried a rebuild (didn't work). I have now logged a support
call with Dell to see if it's something specific to my
drivers / configuration.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Phil
