IE6 hangs when I try to Clear Passwords or Forms in Autocomplete

Dan

I am unable to Clear Passwords or Forms in IE 6. I'm using XP Pro SP2, IE6,
and IE lost the ability to remember autocompletions for forms and passwords.
Using various suggestions from elsewhere, I've tried clearing files and
cookies, then clearing forms or passwords, but when I try to do either, IE6
quickly goes into "Not Responding" in Task Manager, and the processor runs
at 100%. Task Manager Processes shows most (about 90% - varies) of processor
being used by lsass.exe, which is the Local Security Authority Service, so
it may be a user authentication problem. I created another user as suggested
in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;306895, and
completion works OK there, and clearing passwords etc. doesn't hang IE.

Also, when I open User Profiles from My Computer > Advanced, the account
with the problem has over 50MB (even after deleting temp internet files and
cookies in the profile - others have typically 1+ MB). Does this mean that
user account is screwed up and that is the source of the problem with being
unable to delete passwords and forms in Autocomplete? If so, how do I fix? A
registry repair job? Cleaning out content from some system folders? Help!
:)

Any suggestions gratefully received... TIA

Dan
