Guys,

Running Outlook 2002 SP3 (10.6515.6714)
On
Windows 2000 Server SP4 (5.00.2195) running Terminal Services

User is having a few issues when attempting to send an e-mail.

The problem is as follows:
The user creates a new e-mail message and in the To: box starts typing the
name of the person he wishes to send to. As he gets so many letters in
Outlook offers the name of the person to him to which he presses enter and it
places in the To: box the intended recipients name in bold and underlined.
The normal way it would appear when it recognises a name/address.

But when he goes to send the e-mail or presses check names it does not find
the person. Then the only way is to delete it from the To: box and type the
e-mail address in full.

I did some tests with the user and got him to create a new e-mail and type
the whole e-mail address in. Sent that e-mail and then got him to create
another. Got him to start typing the name and it came up with it after a
certain number of letters. Pressed enter to choose that option and then
pressed Check Names to which this time it saw the recipient without any
worries. This was a couple of weeks back and now it's "Lost" the recipient
again.

The recipient is not in the user's contacts and has never been.

Anyone come across this before?

After finding the name, does it make a difference if the person presses Tab
instead of Enter?

Brian,

That's an interesting theory.

Next time it happens I'll ask the user what he pressed.

Thanks for helping.
