AutoArchive not available in folder properties?

Hi all,

I have made a public (!) folder in Outlook (running against Exchange) which
I would like to (Auto)Archive. I have the global AutoArchive on (under
tools->options->other). I read somewhere in Outlook (can't remember exactly
where) that there should be an AutoArchive tab on the folder's properties
page (RMB folder->properties), but it's not there. ?

I've also tried Archive (file->archive), but it says the folder cannot be
archived (no reason or suggestion).

Any ideas? Permissions, maybe?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

That's too bad. Is there anything else I can do (perhaps manually) to avoid
that this folder gets too big, and so threatens the 16 Gb limit in Exchange?

The AutoArchive feature is not available on public folders.

Thanks for the input, but what exactly do you mean by moving them manually?
To where? A private (AutoArchived) folder? The items (including the archive)
must always be visible by all users.

What if I shared a private folder? Do I then practically get a public folder
that can be archived?

Thanks again,
g

Aside from moving items manually, you can use a third-party archiving tool;

You can create a new .pst file, then drag and drop items into it. .pst files cannot be shared, however. If you want a public archive, you need a third-party tool.
