I have a bunch of Yahoo groups I subscribe too and many are configured
to send the emails to me as they are posted to the Yahoo group. Some
groups I've been subscribed to for years when it was called eGroups.
I have thousands of messages in the individual folders and Outlook was
struggling to perform each time I opened one of the folders, so I
created another archive on my machine and set a rule to move all
messages older then 1 month to this backup archive.
Everything worked well except for 1 folder. The folder with a problem
has a / in the name. Outlook 2k3 allows me to create a folder with /,
successfully moves via a rule inbox messages to the folder with a /,
but it's not properly acting upon it via AutoArchive.
I renamed the folder with a slash to use a hyphen and the AutoArchive
works fine. It's hard to search the MS support site to see if it's a
known issue since searching on / doesn't work well and using the word
"slash" didn't return any results.
I'm running Outlook 2003 (11.8010. 8036) SP2 on XP SP2. I went to
report the bug via email but MS wanted to charge me $35.
Known issue? New found problem?
