Auto Updates Status

R

Richard K

On Tuesday night Microsoft applied some auto-updates to my Win XP Pro
Computer and rebooted it. I think one of those updates has messed up a
piece of software I use. Where do I go on the XP Pro computer to see what
was installed so I can try to add/remove the update to see if it fixes my
problem.

Thanks!

Go to 'Control Panel' > 'Add or Remove Programs'

....and after the list has been "populated" (may take a few minutes) you will see any
and all Windows Updates / Security Patches / Office Updates / Office Security Patches
displayed in the panel.

Scroll down and look at the date of the packages to see what was added on the day
your Windows Updates were installed...

You can uninstall any update / security patch from here, also.

BTW - In the early hours of Wednesday morning (12-08-09), I received the following
updates;

Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB972688) OUTLFLTR
Security Update for Office Web Components 2003 (KB947319): OWC10
Security Update for Office Web Components 2003 (KB947319): OWC11
Security Update for Windows XP (KB971557)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB973869)
Update for Windows XP (KB973815)
Security Update for Windows Media Player (KB973540)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB973507)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB956744)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB973354)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB960859)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB971657)

And about an hour ago (14-08-09):

Update for Windows XP (KB968389)

....I got all this information from the "Add or Remove Programs" Control Panel..

You may have something slightly different depending which Office version / Mplayer
you have installed on your machine.
