Auto Update Forces WGA on Users

Well, the new twist to the WGA fiasco is that if you set Auto Update to
download and then let me decide when and what to install, it downloads
the updates and then a box pops up saying it will install them on a
reboot (including WGA in all of its nefarious flavors). I guess greed is
more important to MS than having a safe Internet.

Validate your Windows installation and you will not have this issue.
Visit: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.mspx and click on
"Validate Windows".

I don't want to validate my Windows. MS said it's optional. They lied.
Everyone act surprised. You don't object to this lie. Once again,
everyone act surprised.

Oh, and your "solution" won't work. MS will still force WGA on you with
this new method.

WGA will not be offered as an update if you set the
Automatic Updates to "Automatic" and not try to
manually be selective. Otherwise, install the WGA
update and be done.

Someday that WGA is gonna invalidate all Windows machines just for Homeland
Security purposes during the next outbreak of internet attack anxiety. It phones
home and M$ tells all machines to shut off until further notice. Further notice
never comes...because the machines have been turned off! I think we're having a
Jonestown here where we drink the WGA Kook-Aid, and someday the stuff will be
lethal to your computers.

Time to go rent the movie "I, Robot" from .... 2004!

Wrong. It no longer lets you be selective. Please do some research
before you put your copy and paste foot in your mouth.

Maybe you don't get it. I don't want spyware on my machine and do not
want WGA on my machine. MS said it was optional. They lied. Care to
comment on that or can you only parrot the same tired refrain?

With your sarcasm, I prefer not to respond to
your posts, now and in the future. You may
consider yourself kill filed as of now. So
you do not have to respond to any of my posts
as I shall not read yours. Good riddance!

Typical of someone who doesn't know the answer and runs off in a huff,
insulting as he goes. Trust me, Carey, I do not post for you but to show
others how you mislead them. I am very pleased that you've plonked me so
I don't have to put up with your ill informed replies.

You can rail against the tide, the wind, the Republicans, Wal-Mart, global
warming, beets, Microsoft, and old age. In the long run, it would be better
all around if you just went to sleep.

When you awake, you will have joined us and all will be well.

I'll just place this pod under your bed.

Sleep now, my child. You'll feel so much better.

Says he that has been dork filed as of long ago...
