Auto receive in 2003

I have just upgraded to Office 2003 Pro. Office XP had a function that I
can't replicate on 2003.

1. It seemed that my email automatically came in with out me having to click
on Send/Receive but I don't seem to be able to have the same set up with
2003. I have checked all the settings - what am I missing.
 
You tell us. What settings did you find when you checked your Send/Receive
groups?
