Just upgraded to broadband and net launch no longer works (only used for
dial up)to launch certain programmes on net connection. Is there a good
alternative programme that I can use and configure to launch apps (updates
/software firewall /email client etc) so many minutes after windows starts
for example?

Windows PowerPro ...... schedule any task, at start-up in your case ....
with any delay entered as a wait.

The Wonderful Icon.

Put it in Startup and ask it to launch as many apps as you like after it
has loaded, with any wait time you like specified.

It does one or two other things also.

I'm currently using Startup Delayer for this, and it works well.

Startup Delayer v2.1.10

Forgot to mention, this program needs the Visual Basic runtime files to
run. If you get an error about MSVBVM60.DLL missing when you run the
exe, you will need to download and install the VB runtime. You can get
it from here (link may wrap):

Xecutor. Very well done, great interface, exits after the launches or can
wait around to launch other stuff at shutdown. Has a scheduler for launches
only on certain days. It's "cardware", however: the author wants you to
send him a postcard.

I'm not sure if this link is still valid:
