PS Hot Launch, application launcher (nice screenshot)

Downloading this one, don't know how good it is yet, it has a
nice screenshot.

PS Hot Launch (about 700kb)

http://www.pssoftlab.com/pshl_info.phtml

cut and pasted:
"PS Hot Launch is meant to quickly run different applications,
open documents, go to the right folders and web pages, send
mail to a specified address, etc.

The above operations are carried out through the menu that can
be called by clicking the program icon in the taskbar system
tray, and also by pressing user assigned hot keys (support for
the <Win> key significantly extends the number of possible
combinations).

The list of applications, documents, folders can be shown as a
tree, that is you can divide everything that you want to run
into logical groups that make it easier and quicker to find
the tasks that you want now. This grouping will allow you to
form a very handy structure of the executable commands. Using
the structure, you can very quickly find and run something
that you want now.

PS Hot Launch is a perfect alternative to the Start menu and
the Quick Launch panel.
Main features:

* Quick launch of applications from the menu in the system
tray;
* Quick launch of applications using hot keys;
* Logical grouping of commands;
* Using separators to make the menu handier;
* Quick and handy set-up using drag&drop

PS Hot Launch VVL is meant to quickly run different
applications, open documents, go to the right folders and web
pages, send mail to a specified address, etc. PS Hot Launch
VVL is a perfect alternative to the Start menu and the Quick
Launch panel.
Please click on the small picture to get a bigger view.
The program requires Win95/98/ME or WinNT/2000/XP.
This is freeware version."

Hi R. L.

I like your PL sig and ripped it if you don't mind.

I did notice that Dzadys link wraps though. Even marking, copying and
trying to paste it did not work for me.

but please dont write all that in/under your SIG as R.L. does. A SIG
should contain only MAX 4 lines. THX.

A nice thing about Agent is that it does not wrap links when sending.

The easiest way to fix a wrapped link is to highlight it and press
'F', and mend it in the composition window.

No, a SIG can contain whatever the author of the post decides to place
there.
Your reprimands add nothing but animosity to any discussion.

Historically, netiquette and common courtesy has always encouraged the
use of a signature file no more than four lines in length.

(This can be easily verified from a plethora of online sources.)

ok, so let's anyone make his SIG as long as wanted because a limitation
to about 4 lines is only a SHOULD but no rule. But if this in general
would be a good behavior?

See, this is the type of thing that causes nothing but trouble. Those
links to "rules" mean *nothing*.
Quit trying to force upon others what you think *good* usenet behavior
should be.

No one has attempted any 'forcing', only pointed to what should be
done. The first one even said please as well as thanks.

I really do not want to be impolite. I've never used a sig and both my
ISP and student account adds a horrible ad tagline. I apologize for
his.

At this point, if I'm going to use a tagline, I would like to list all
three sites as RL has done. I have compacted it, but it still is over
the 4 line limit a bit.

"Polite" is a relative word. IMO, "polite" means you respect how others
choose to post. If you don't like how they post, then the "polite" thing
to do would be to ignore it.
No one has attempted any 'forcing', only pointed to what should be

OK, then where do you draw the line? Do you say nothing when someone you
agree with posts a sig that has seven lines? Do you complement someone
who posts using two lines?

I suggest everyone quit worrying about a post's format and consider the
post's content.

Hey I tried to make mine shorter, too (see I have changed mine
a bit so to have less words, but this is as good as I could
make it).

You could definitely do better then I do because you don't
have your site to put.

Anyhow, just a personal suggestion in trying to make it
shorter, one "****" line or even none could do; In fact,
perhaps "----" could be better than "****" if you just want a
"top line"; it could be visually clearer. (I just use mine as
a seperator between my site and the others, but I don't really
like it, it looks clustered).
And less "*" could make the line shorter, too. It will make
sure people's newsreader won't wrap the whole *** line as two
line. Just some personal thoughts :)

<http://news.individual.net/> offers a good free service without the
advertising, text groups only though.

A sig should be separated from the body by a "-- " (without the
quotes) on a line of its own. This helps other readers when viewing
and when replying. Agent probably has a way to do this
automagically, but I don't know how to set it up.

A bit over is not such a big deal, but the closer you can get to
four, the better. (BTW, the asterisk lines count also. ;)

That may not look so good if a proportional font is used, though.
Heck, it may not look so good even with a fixed-width one. ;)

I usually only post about it when someone argues against people
limiting their sigs' length.
I suggest everyone quit worrying about a post's format and

The post which started this was REM's post about the sig he was
considering using -- it was part of the content. He got a response
which asked him to please limit the length to four lines. It was
then that you started arguing about format.

True. See how this one looks. I am wondering if this wraps badly in some
newsreaders. It looks fine in Agent.

I'm signing up now. I saw Mark list this in another thread and was planning to

I just copied and pasted it in. See if this works.

They are called Signatures in Agent. I don't see a way to auto-it. Maybe this
will work...

Yes, that is quite clear, btw, you could also take a look at
Q's suggestion too, just a different style. Just one little
more thing, put "--" before everything to "tag" the lines
after it as part of the signature but not body text; Some
newsreaders can recognize this tag and display everything
afterwards in different or smaller fonts and hence less
clutters.
