Steve

I have a year old HP laptop that has a built in wireless card. in the last
month my network has stopped working. The card can connect with my
router fine but cannot get a useful IP address. The radio button for
"Obtain IP Address automatically" is checked but the IP address never
changes. Also, on the packets sent/recieved, the computer sends
packets but does not recieve any. Network Firewall is not on. Any help
would be appreciated.

If your wireless is wirking fine and if it set to use DHCP, it should get one valid adress from the server and if not fouind you should get at least an IP adress from the range 169.254.x.y with mask of 255.255.255.0 which is the Automatic private IP adressing

Run IPCONFIG utility and verify your setting
