Auto Insert in Outlook

S

Simon

Hi There,

I have recently changed computers and have transferred all
my contacts onto the new PC. I have for some reason
however, lost the ability to type the first few letters of
an email adress and select the contact I am after from a
drop down menu that appears or simply have it auto
complete the address for me.

I hope someone can help me, because sorting through
hundreds of email adresses is getting pretty tedious.

Thanks

Simon

Since you changed computers, you'll have to wait for Outlook to build a new
auto-complete list. Try typing in just a name; you should find that Outlook
finds the right person when you send the message much of the time, or at
least suggests likely recipients.

How does outlook build a new auto-complete list? How long
does it take? I also have the same problem. But it also
happens when i add a new contact in the current list, then
when i enter that name in a new email To: field, it still
does not work. Help!!

It's a cache list; it remembers al the addresses you've manually typed
before or selected from the Address Book.

Make sure the autosuggest option is enabled in Tools-> Options-> tab
Preferences-> button E-mail Options...-> button Advanced E-mail Options...
