Auto discoverd printers?

Hi all,

I think I'm going mad here so any help or confirmation of said insanity
would be appreciated.

Scenario:

I have a client with a small workgoup, all PC's running XP Pro connecting to
a Server 2k3 Terminal Server.
They have a HP printserv with 2 printers connected to it and all machines
connect to those printers via tcp-ip ports.
So far so good, however every computer also auto populates the printers
folder with each of the other computers printers, I checked and found that
everyone had shared their printers so I gave them instructions to unshare
the printers which they **claim** to have followed.
They are now saying (next day, computers turned off overnight) that some of
the printers are still showing up as auto discovered.

I believe they are still shared, but I am unable to access the site to
confirm until tomorrow.

Question:

Other than sharing the printer, is there another mechanism I have overlooked
that allows the auto discovery of printers in XP?
I have a vague recollection of seeing something like "auto discover network
resources" or something similar but my efforts on google have so far been
fruitless.
If such an option does exist pointers to turning it off would be
appreciated.

Cheers
Lewis

Go to control panel, click on folder options and remove
the checkmark from the line: Automatic search for network
folders and printers.
I think this is what you're looking for? Good luck! Bluemax

That's it !!!!!

I *KNEW* I had seen it "somewhere", as it turns out the users had not
unshared the offending printers as I had instructed, (users....can't live
with 'em, can't shoot 'em) but I'm sure once I make this change they will
not appear again.

Thank you.

Cheers
Lewis
