Go to Start, Network Connections. Right click on the connection and
select "Properties" - Under the "Options" tab, there is a box to tell it
how long to wait before disconnecting. You can select "never" under "Idle
time before hanging up" or some other length of time.
This works for dial-up and DSL, not cable.
