Does anyone know how to find out which program is trying to log onto the Internet when I first Boot up? Almost everytime I first boot up something tries to log onto the Internet using my dial up connection. I did let it log on once to see if I could figure out where it wanted to go but it did not open an IE window. If there is a utility to let me know what is trying to log on that would be great
Thanks for the help

Sure, install a firewall (which is a good idea to have anyway). Sygate is
free and will tell you exactly which program is trying to connect to the
internet.

Your dialup settings are probably set to always connect if it simply dials
up your ISP and then waits for you or someone on the lan to do something.
That wold be a normal operation.

Check thry Tools; Options for the settings. Also when you have the dialup
window on the screen you can uncheck the Connect Automatically" box, but go
thru the options settings too.
