Auto-Complete

I have a a few (hopefully) easy questions in regards to the Auto-Complete
function.

-First off, where do you 'manage' this data? I haven't found a place within
Outlook that lets you set more advanced features. Does such a place exist?

-Secondly, where does it draw the data from? I'm a long time Outlook user
and Auto-Complete has always left me scratching my head. One day an
Auto-Complete address will work, the next day it won't. What is happening?

If anyone with any further experience or advanced knowledge could elaborate
on the process of Auto-Complete it would be much appreciated. Thanks for
your time

There's no place to manage it other than being able to delete a name from
the list by highlighting it and hitting Delete when you see it. There's a
third-party utility mentioned here to deal with the NK2 file (the source):

If you mean autocomplete of addresses they are contained in the
'username'.nk2 file, but this is not editable, though you can delete invalid
addresses.(highlight invalid addy using arrow keys, Del Btn)
Its populated from entering addys in the 'To' bar, over time
