Authors-if authoring against a web server, please contact the web.

I am trying to save web pages in microsoft front page. I have both 2002 and
2003 versions and in the 7 years I have been working with front page have
never encountered the following problem. When I try to open or save a page,
I get the following error:

"An error occurred accessing your windows sharepoint services files"

or

"An error occurred accessing your Frontpage web files. Authors-if authoring
against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's site.
Webmasters-please see the server's system log for more details."

I do not have windows sharepoint services on either my new or old desktop.
Since the files are also on an external hard drive, I have tried opening and
saving on the same computer and had the same message happen. I do not handle
my own hosting.....I pay a company to host...but the problem is happening in
Front page, both versions.

Any ideas about what could cause this and how to fix the problem? Thanks,
Lynne

You need to contact your web host and ask them to run a server health check on the extensions and/or
look at the server's log files.

FP uses the generic text "windows SharePoint services" for all FP Server Extension problems
- of working in an online web have your host run a server health check of the FP SE

This has nothing to do with a server. I don't use sharepoint. The errors
were happening on my local computer justing trying to open a saved web page
on my computer in both versions of Front page. I just use front page for an
WYSIWG editor.

I called Microsoft and got an answer that I hope helps everyone. Apparently
my files were stored in a file folder that matched all the other yellow
folders, it did not start with My Webs with a yellow folder and a blue
circle. You have to have this "web folder" with a blue circle and you can
have your subdirectories for your work under that.
