Auot-connect to Term. Server

I am running a Win2K3 Terminal server with approx. 30 users connecting to it.
All clients are on XP SP1 and are currently logging into their machines and
then opening the terminal session using an RDP shortcut I created on their
desktop. I tried adding the RDP shortcut to their startup folder but it
causes a loop because it processes the startup folder multiple times. Once
when they log onto the domain and again when they are logged into the
terminal server. Is there anyway to have the users automatically connected
to the terminal server when they log into the domain?

Ok, this is a long shot and maybe only for W2K but here goes.

In W2K Terminal Services, it is possible to have two profiles; one for the normal workstation logon and the other for TS logon. If you have not specifically setup the TS profile, then it defaults to the normal one. So, if the normal one has a startup to TS, then the TS logon will have it also.

To test, remove it from Startup and try logging on both ways.

I have a W2K3 server with TS running, so I just tested this. It works. Before the test, I had the TS profile set to the normal profile area. I created a subdir called "TSProfiles" and then set my user's TS profile path to this share. Logging on via TS, it created a new subdir under the new share with my username. But in order to create the appropriate profile structure, you must logon and then logoff. Then you'll see the subdirs created.
