I want to be able to ajust the music to fit the seen.
eg. Using the Audio levels dialog box, I move the slider
back and forth to compansate for Automobiles and traffic
noise. It seems to work wile doing the adjustments but
when I play it back, No changes
 
I've experience the same result. You may want to try a freeware program called MP3 Trim to adjust the voume of your audio clip, then dub it to your video
